"I won't cheat"- Dale Murphy

Image
This quote shows that Dale is very honest, he knows he should'n't cheat so he doesn't. Most people can say that they won't cheat and actually do it. But Dale was true to his word and never cheated in the time he was playing. Most people can't do that, so the fact that he did that should be honored. Athletes tend to cheat  because they want to win or others are doing it, so the fact that he didn't cheat surprises me. He seems like the person who didn't care that he wins or loses, he just seems like he loves what he does. I have seen many people cheat because they didn't want a bad score, but it's unfair to those who actually studied and worked hard. So Dale wanted to be fair and put in as much work as the others. He worked hard and showed how amazing he was without anything/anyone helping him. You have to work hard like Dale, and be as honest as him to gte the credit you deserve.

"Character Matters Most."- Dale Murphy

Image
This quote means that no matter what you do, what really defines you is your character. An example is you score a hundreds of touch downs but it doesn't matter if you cheat your waya there. You have to have a good charater because in the end that's what matters the most. Trophies come and go but the type of character you are will follow you for the rest of your life. Your friens/life will be determined buy what type of peron you are, you  can have agood life or a bad life. Another example is when you are announced the best player in the world you are respected by everyone, but if you were cheating and they found out all those wins were nothing. Once you cheat it's like all your wins were nothing, and it shows what type of person you are. That is why you always have to be honest because you don't everything to go the drain. You have to work hard so that why when you are complimented you know you earned that compliment. Cheating and lying will pile up until you can't

"Great beauty, great strength, and great riches are really and truly of no great use; a right heart exceeds all."- Benjamin Franklin

Image
This quote means that nothing compares t having a right heart. You can get beauty, strength, and great riches; but getting a right is heart is something you can't just get, you have to work to get a right heart. Having a right heart means always thinking before you do and always choosing the right. A right heart is so valuable that some people don't have one. A right heart is something your have to work hard to get, not something that is just handed to you. You have to be willing to have a right heart, or else you won't get one. A right heart is something that will never fade once you get it. And a right heart will always be useful and will never turn against you. You have to work to get things, it can't be handed things all your life. That's why most people that get handed things on a silver platter tend to think having a right heart will be handed to them too.

"Ask yourself is it right or wrong and act accordingly."- Otto Graham, Jr.

Image
This quote means that you have to always think before you act, because if you stop and think it can change your life. People tend to do things without thinking, they think it won't affect them but it will. You have to be smart and ask yourself if this is right or wrong. If it is right then do it and if it is wrong don't do it. A right choice is something that will affect you in a positive way and the wrong choice is if it affects you in a negative way. You have to thin ahead because right and wrong can either affect you in a good way or it can mes up your life. An example of this a homeless man returning a ring, he could have sold the ring and gotten, but he did the right thing and returned it. He got rewarded big time, not only did he have the couple that lost engagement ring start a fund for him, and receiving more money, he also reunited with his family. He got so much more than if he would have sold it. That's why you have to think ahead because one day your life can ei

Valentine's Day

Image
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 Today's Valentine's day is much different from back then. The origins of Valentine's Day are murky. We do know that the ancient Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia, a spring festival, on the 15th of February. With the introduction of Christianity, the holiday moved to the 14th of February--the saint day that celebrated several early Christian martyrs named Valentine . They used to kill goats and rip their hide off and put on the back of women. The women didn't find this at all weird. they actually thought the hide would make them more fertile. There would be match making where men would pull women's name out of a jar. Often it ended in marriage. It was not until much later, however, that the day became definitively associated with love. During the Middle Ages, it was commonly believed in France and England that February 14 was the beginning of birds’ mating season, which added to the idea that the mid

"Act well your part, there all honor lies."- Alexander Pope

Image
This quote mean that if do your best and do good, you will be recognized for good things. An example of this is when you are always doing your work in school and doing good, people will  recognized you for that. But if you do bad you will only be recognized as the person who does bad things. Honor is only given when you do good things but it can be taken away if you do bad . If you always do goo, honor will follow your around, but doing bad things will not bring honor. Another example is if you cheat on your test but you get a good grade, people will think you are working hard but once they find out you have been cheating your honor will be taken away. That's why you must always do good things since nothing good will happen to you when you do bad. Doing bad will bring nothing good, you know that but you still end up doing. Good will always bring happiness and positive things. Honor is important that's why you must do good so you can keep your honor.

"Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for 'tis better to be alone than in bad company."- George Washington

Image
This quote means that the people around will effect you, whether it be good or bad, that depends on what type of people you hang out with. If you hang around with the wrong crowd you will become just like that. But if you hang around good people, nothing bad will happen to you. That's why you have to be careful of who you let into your life. You have to know when to let go of relationships when you know they won't end up well. You have to ask yourself "Will my friends try to convince to do bad things?", if the answer is yes then you better get new friends. The same goes for relationships, if you know they are going to hurt you in the end, then it will be better if you end it. Even though it might seem mean to end a friendship/relationship like that, you don't want to get hurt in the end. That's why the type you hang around with determine if you will become a good or bad person.

"Right is right only when entire."- Victor Hugo

Image
This quote means that right is when you don't cheat, not even a little bit. An example is if you are taking a test and you look at someone else's paper to get an answer for one, it is still considered cheating. Once you cheat just for one question it is the same as cheating the whole test. That's why you have to do everything truthfully or its the same as doing the wrong/lying. You have to do it all the best you can because the second you cheat you have just cheated you whole test. And soon cheating for one answer turns into cheating the whole test. Same as drinking, a little bit can turn into a lot if you are not careful. So you might as well not start it if it won't end up well for you, because one little "i just want to try it" can turn into n addiction in a second. That's why you have to work hard so you don't end up doing the wrong. So don't start what you will regret.

"If you do what's right, if you love the right way, you'll be taken care of."-Rachel Castillo

Image
This quote means that if you continue to do good you don't have to worry about bad things coming your way. Someone will look out for you so you won't have to worry about anything. It can be a past family member, i believe in this because i have had this happen to me. My mom, brother and me were coming from the store, we turned left and as we turned an ambulance came toward us not intending to stop. Somehow my swerved so we couldn't get hit, it was crazy because i was right where the ambulance could have hit us. My mom said that she felt like she wasn't turning the wheel and someone else did it. She said it might have been my grandma, she has passed a few years from then. I loved my grandma and we were always good to her. So the fact that it could have been a sign, it reassures me. Being good will bring nothing but good things. That's why you have to do good because you don't know if one day that might save you.
