This quote means that no matter what you do, what really defines you is your character. An example is you score a hundreds of touch downs but it doesn't matter if you cheat your waya there. You have to have a good charater because in the end that's what matters the most. Trophies come and go but the type of character you are will follow you for the rest of your life. Your friens/life will be determined buy what type of peron you are, you  can have agood life or a bad life. Another example is when you are announced the best player in the world you are respected by everyone, but if you were cheating and they found out all those wins were nothing. Once you cheat it's like all your wins were nothing, and it shows what type of person you are. That is why you always have to be honest because you don't everything to go the drain. You have to work hard so that why when you are complimented you know you earned that compliment. Cheating and lying will pile up until you can't hold it anymore and the truth comes out. So why let your work go down the drain, have a good character.

Honor is the best thing you can have, it's better to fail with honor, it shows what type of person you are. If you cheat and get caught, that can mess up for life. If you win or fail with honor it shows what type of morals you have, and it shows your parents raised you right. Doing the right will always do good, that's why you have to do it all the time. This quote means that doing the right thing might mean you have to stand alone. And even if you are standing alone you know you are doing the right thing. It doesn't matter if the people around you do it, it matters if you are choosing the right thing. Sometimes your friend might be on a different path, and they might be your friends, but it's your future. You can even bring people on to your path so that you won't stand alone. You have to be alone sometimes, although it might seem scary, you will end up finding people who will stand with you. Choosing the right is the best thing you can do, whether it be a small or big problem. You have to what is right because that will guarantee success. This quote means that because everyone is doing it doesn't make it okay for you to do. For example if you see other people cheating, you think "Oh, everyone is doing it so it's okay" so you cheat too, but your fate sealed when you cheat. You might get to the point where you cheat almost every time you have a test, you will end up getting caught. Everyone might be doing something but for you do it too just makes you a follower and you want to be leader. You can choose to ignore them and let them deal with there own problems or you can be a follower and possible set yourself up for destruction. You make your own decisions and you shouldn't let others influence you. Following others most of the time only leads you bad things, because you can't let others control your life. I prefer to be a leader since i don't want to be someone i am not by following other people. Another example is drugs, alcohol, and smoking, it can affect you if you fall into peer pressure
