You have to want something for it to happen. If you don't try to do anything nothing is going to happen, goals will help you achieve things. An example of this is when you have a goal you will want to achieve, and that goal will occupy yourself so you can achieve greater things.  You have to work hard for things and without things you have nothing to work for. Your goals have to be realistic and things that will be good for you. Even if you have no strive for things, goals will hep you to get that determination for life.
