In this world you have to be nice, you can't be rude all your life, and sometimes you can do something nice without knowing. It might become a pattern that your just nice on a everyday basis, which will help you later on in life.

This quote means that because everyone is doing it doesn't make it okay for you to do. For example if you see other people cheating, you think "Oh, everyone is doing it so it's okay" so you cheat too, but your fate sealed when you cheat. You might get to the point where you cheat almost every time you have a test, you will end up getting caught. Everyone might be doing something but for you do it too just makes you a follower and you want to be leader. You can choose to ignore them and let them deal with there own problems or you can be a follower and possible set yourself up for destruction. You make your own decisions and you shouldn't let others influence you. Following others most of the time only leads you bad things, because you can't let others control your life.
